In September 2019, the bicom team was contacted by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Toronto to plan an event around Hispanic foods, highlighting ten Spanish companies importing their goods to Canada.
The objective was to increase awareness of the Food from Spain brand and the enterprises within it, while establishing connections with local market players (chefs, restaurateurs, buyers, etc.), ensuring their visibility within the Montreal food industry.
Bicom organized a B2B event at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) on November 4, 2019.
In order to create a hyper-targeted guest list mainly focused on the catering sector – restaurateurs, chefs – and food distributors, bicom conducted extensive research in order to properly target key figures in the industry. Invited guests included specialized media.
For the event, bicom brought together over 84 guests to discover the products and companies promoted by Food from Spain.
Guests were happy to have attended this event and some expressed their desire to establish connections with Spanish producers at restaurants and at wholesalers.
“Meeting with the different producers gave me the idea of including Manchego on the next menu. “ Said Afshin, chef at Le Bureau Bar Tapas,, after the event.
